2017 Helicopter pilot scholarship deadline approaches.

With just over four months remaining until Helicentre Aviation Academy’s 2017 Scholarship closing date, it’s time for aspiring pilots to start thinking about submitting their applications. The programme, which is unlike any other, has already paid for more than £350k worth of pilot training since it launched in 2012. The fully funded scholarships have enabled the individuals selected to fast-track their training and begin working as Professional Helicopter Pilots flying charter, aerial survey and instructing. For the scholarship winners it has been unmistakably life-changing, providing imperative funding needed to successfully complete training. For the company, it has been instrumental in identifying extreme talent and professionalism, not only in the winning candidates, but the overall high calibre of the applicants which has led to many being offered employment. Luke Ofield, a brick layer from the West Midlands was last year’s CPL(H) scholarship winner. He has just returned from the academy’s U.S. base in Florida where he completed his fully funded hour-building in the Cabri G2. “The scholarship has allowed me to fulfil my passion for flying helicopters which otherwise would not have been possible” Luke remarked. “My PPL(H) instructor was also a scholarship winner and a real inspiration and I’m grateful to everyone at Helicentre for helping me to get a foot on the career ladder”. Luke starts his R44 type rating and CPL(H) course in a few weeks time.

Applications for the two scholarships will be accepted up until the deadline of 30th September 2017, and all pre-requisites be met by this date. For the Commercial Pilot Scholarship this means completing the Private Pilot’s Licence at Helicentre before the closing date. The scholarship winner will receive full funding for their ATPL(H) theoretical knowledge training and all post-PPL hour building to meet the prerequisites for the CPL(H) course in the Cabri G2, which is also fully paid for. The CPL(H) Scholarship winner will complete the programme with approximately 192 hours total flight time.
