Russian Helicopters and a number of Indian companies have signed memoranda of understanding at Aero India 2019. The parties have agreed to study the production of a number of Ka-226T helicopter kits and components in India.
The agreements have been signed with Elcom, Valdel Advanced Technologies, Dynamatic Technologies, Integrated Helicopter Services and Bharat Forge. They include sets such as fuselage, blades and landing gear.
“We have launched a new phase of the Ka-226T project: identifying the manufacturing chain among Indian companies, and I am confident that the agreements reached today will lead to mutually beneficial cooperation in the long term, when Ka-226T will be transferred to the customer’s territory, “said Andrey Boginskiy, Managing Director of Russian Helicopters.
The production location of the Ka-226T in India is a key project under the “Make in India” program.
The contract provides for the delivery of 60 Ka-226T assembled in Russia and the production of 140 units in the territory of the partner country.
