Following the order of 28 NH90 helicopters by the State of Qatar, announced in mid-March 2018, Safran Helicopter Engines (SHE) has been selected by the buyer to power the aircraft with RTM322 gas turbines. These will be manufactured in Bordes (France), then transported to the Airbus Helicopters facilities in Marignane (France) before being installed on the TTH (tactical transport) version, and then on to the Leonardo plant in northern Italy to be mounted on naval versions (NFH).
The NH90s of the Qatar Armed Forces will be equipped with the RTM322-01 / 9A variant, which develops 7% more power than the standard version (RTM322-01 / 9). This power supply makes it possible to improve the performance of the helicopter while operating in high altitude and at high temperatures. FB
